Spring/Summer Catch Reports (08/06/2010 @ 12:55:23)

Well, it's been a while! Since the release of the SLK at the beginning of March our feet literally haven't touched the ground so finding time to update the website has been tough. Meanwhile whilst we've been up to our eyes in SLK, it seems you lot have been hauling! I've been trying to save any catch reports submitted as they've come in, for inclusion, but apologies in advance if i miss anyone.

Starting off in no particular order is that man again, Kev Rogerson. Kev has had a superb start to the year as usual and i think i'm not far off in saying that Kev had banked more than 20 Northern 20's before most of us had dusted the gear off after the winter!! SLK and Kev's favourite MaltX Red doing all the damage as usual. Here's a few pics of some of Kev's highlights of the year so far.

As usual 'Lil Steve' Carrie has been putting himself about this spring with a few nice fish to boot. A 48hr session to Monks Pit in Cambridgeshire saw a couple of fish banked whilst it was fishing hard, the best of the pair being the mirror below at 35.08. SLK wafters fished in conjunction with PVA sticks of SLK Groundbait over SLK pellets producing for Steve.

Steve's run of form continued at the recent BCAC qualifier at Kingsbury Pine Pool when along with his partner Martin Dudley they finished an extremely credible 2nd to qualify for the Semi-Finals with four fish for 77.10. After a slow start a bit of quick thinking meant they crept up the leader board over the final 24hrs to make 2nd place their own. Good angling lads!

Next we come to Chris Dent and Marc Howells. They recently enjoyed a trip to Elphicks and ended up with a personal best apiece which can't be bad! Chris was using the SLK whilst Marc went with his trusty OceanX. Congratulations on the new PB's lads!

One thing that hasn't gone unnoticed since the SLK has been released is the amount of commons getting caught on it. We're not quite sure of the reason but one thing is for certain that they bloody love the stuff! Here's a few recent reports...

Dave Legard has had an awesome start to his season on his local syndicate. I've lost count of the amount of commons he's nailed since switching to the SLK. He recently connected with one of his seasons target fish weighing dead on 25lb, giving Dave a new UK PB common.

Paul Mcdonald from Scunthorpe has also been raising a few eyebrows on his local syndicate after a switch to the SLK, catching these two stunning commons in quick succession along with plenty of other fish along the way. Keep up the good work Paul!

90's Carp hauler extraordinare Brent Charlish from Harrogate dusted off the rods recently and spent a few days on Bluebells Swan Lake to ease himself back into it. A single SLK bottom bait at distance accounted for this stunning common on his last morning proving he hasn't lost his touch.

Brent's 27.13 common

Paul Scott and his 8yr old son Nathan have also been getting in amongst the commons on North East club water Brasside. Using SLK over the matching pellets has seen them catching very consistently so far this season. These fish are crackers for the North East and Nathan should be very proud of himself as there's plenty of anglers this far North who can't boast about fish of that size.

Also news just in is that Rich Fewkes from Lincolnshire has had a 36+ common from the A1 pits. SLK doing the damage of course!

These are just a snippet of the amount of commons getting caught on the SLK. Is there something in it? Who knows, but if your water contains a large common I know which bait I'd choose!

SLK Release (27/02/2010 @ 19:41:43)

Well it's been a long old winter, probably the worst most alot us can remember but there's a shining light appearing from amongst the gloom. No it's not the news Cheryl Cole has split up from Ashley it's March the 1st on Monday!!!...Why's that special I hear you say?? Well it's only the bloody long anticipated release date of the awesome SLK. I'm sure we've bored you with enough catch reports over the last year on this stuff so we'll not go over old ground but have no fear...the bait you've been waiting for is soon to be here!

Online ordering will be available first thing monday morning so get in there quick as the production board will be filling up fast. If you've been fancying a change this season but haven't been tempted by anything so far you can stop looking. Bait doesn't get much better than this. Devastatingly instant yet a proven long term catcher. Not many baits fit these credentials so well as SLK.

To accompany the release of SLK we are also releasing our full range of pellets. Available initially in 1k, 5k and 10k

These have been superb in testing, creating postive feeding responses even in freezing water conditions. Made using the same ingredients as our freezer baits these pellets are very special indeed. A perfect match for the accompany freezer bait.

Blooming Heck It's Cold!! (13/01/2010 @ 13:55:49)

Before we start this news report I'd like to wish a warm Happy New Year to all our lovely DNA customers. Here's hoping with our help 2010 will be your most successful season ever!

Right, on with what's been happening. Well to be honest not much really on the fishing front so far in 2010. I'm sure I'm not alone in the fact that the end of my last session of 2009 ended up looking like the picture below.

A couple of us braved the pre Christmas temperature plummet and went for a Xmas cheer session on Pendle View in Lancashire. The temps dropped to minus 7 that night and we woke up to a frosty morning. Whilst stood with a morning brew surveying the ice rink before us one of Marks tips banged down into the ice. Unbelievably he went on to land a lovely low double mirror with a bit of ice breaking assistance in the margin to land it. A 12mm SLK tipped with a slice of Fruitylicous Candy Stick was the winning method. This was fished in conjunction with a solid PVA bag filled with the awesome soon to be released SLK pellet. I've no picture of the 'ice fish' unfortunately as Mark has yet to send it in but here's one of a low twenty Mark tempted on the same method a few weeks earlier from the same venue.

Next up, with my personal 'pic of last year' is Steve Carrie with a lovely looking Welham Lake common tempted in the middle of the bad weather. In temperatures bottoming out at just under minus 7 Steve fished (or should that be endured!) a 24hr session. He was disappointed to lose two fish earlier in the session but he got his wish for a snow carp when the stunner below picked up his Pink Peril hookbait. This was fished in conjunction with a bag of crushed on test Nutta - S.

While I'm here I'll just add that if you are looking to wet your line during this freezing weather then Welham Lake, Malton is an awesome place to go. The lake rarely freezes due to the constantly flowing water from the inlet and is always good for a bite, no matter how cold it is. To book onto Welham for a session give Gaz a ring on 07769 201368 or visit www.welhamlake.com

Another December report to come in was received from DNA Fieldtester 'Secret' Jon Bassham. As usual Jon has been amongst the fish and he started his winter campaign in style on his current syndicate water. I'll let him fill in the gaps himself.

13.12.09 "Just to update you on how the SLK fieldtesting's going so far this winter.....great!! Went last weekend and in a mad 5 hour spell I had 7 takes landing 5 mirrors of 24.0, 21.12, 19.10, 16.8 and 14.6. I fished an SLK wafter on one rod and the same tipped with a piece of yellow candy stick on the other. These were fished over a small bed of hemp and chops. The fish came to both rods
Cheers
Jon"

Not much else to say than well in mate, and let's hope your run of success carries on after the ice thaws!

Another angler to have a cracking finish to the year was Martin Dudley when he finally achieved a long time target of Fairview Lakes C-Scale at a weight of 33.06. Martin bagged the fish using a 14mm Nutta boilie fished in conjunction with a PVA bag of crumbled baits.Well done 'Duds' on what is one of Yorkshires most sought after and best looking fish.

Martin with the awesome C-Scale

Martin also fished the Majestic Winter Competition in December. During his round he took first place with a 3 fish haul consisting of fish of 15lb, 19.08 and 22lb. The latter taking the largest fish prize of the comp. Successful tactics being SLK and Nutta hookbaits and small pva mesh bags.Unfortunately the final suffered from the bad weather conditions and only one fish was caught during the 48hr match. This meant Martin placed 3rd overall so not a bad result along with the largest fish prize.

A report from foreign shores now.

Recently Steve Hackers enjoyed a four fish catch during a short break at
Moulin de Passias in France. The catch included the lake record ghostie at 30.04 plus two other 30's and a high twenty. OceanX doing the damage for Steve and once again proving that if you've booked to go to France in 2010 you'd be daft to leave home without taking some OceanX

OceanX rips Bill's Lake Apart!! (13/11/2009 @ 12:39:37)

A special report now from Craig Ham, Jim Dickinson and Dave Armstrong who recently enjoyed a trip of a lifetime to French venue, Bill's Lake. The new lake record of 60.12 plus 4 other fifties were included in a haul of 26 fish.

Craig said  " It was an awesome week.......26 fish out in total......a lake record 60, 4 x 50, 4 x 40, 8 x 30 the rest were 20's......the fish were cr*pping the bait out all over the mats!"

According to the lakes owner this weeks haul is the best the venue has ever witnessed in it's 8 yrs of being open! Successful tactic for the trio was OceanX/Pink Peril Snowman rigs fished over lots of OceanX. Well done lads!

We've always maintained OceanX will compete head to head with anything currently on the market. The above catch report proves it in our opinion.

Here's a few pics from the trip.
